Most anyone visiting this page knows how I got the nickname Sparky, but just in case you don't, you really just need to know that I had an unfortunate run-in with the trigger transformer from a one time use camera. It hurt, but that didn't keep my friends from having a field day with my pain and suffering. Seven years later, I've grown to like the nickname and use it for everything. Unfortunately, sparky.com was already taken.

Check out this link on camera flashes from howstuffworks.com. Note the fact "this transformer boosts the 200-volt current from the capacitor up to between 1,000 and 4,000 volts." Ouch!

Why didn't I die? The current didn't pass through my heart, and it is just high voltage, not high current (amps). Again, see howstuffworks.com, where this page explains all that electrial stuff for those of you lucky enough not to be in EE or Physics courses. It put electricity into me really hard, but not a particularly large amount of charge. At least I think that's why I'm okay...
